Position Overview

As a Traveling Superintendent at Constructable, you’ll lead projects in remote locations for extended periods, typically in small cities across New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Texas, among others. You will oversee all on-site construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include managing work schedules, coordinating job site activities, monitoring progress, and maintaining equipment and supplies. You will also ensure compliance with regulations and foster a productive team environment. Success requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and effective management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise workers and subcontractors, managing work schedules, project progress, and completion.
• Coordinate daily job site activities and maintain equipment and materials.
• Manage project documentation using project management software, maintaining detailed logs of site activities.
• Distribute three-week lookahead schedules.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.

Safety and Quality Control

• Manage job site safety and enforce safety policies.
• Monitor construction quality, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Keep daily logs and conduct inspections to mitigate risks and delays.

Communication

• Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive job site culture.
• Serve as liaison between field staff and office teams to resolve issues and align projects.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to travel and work in remote locations for six weeks at a time.
• OSHA 10 & 30 certifications.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction budgeting and safety practices.
• Understanding of construction regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to lift/move items of 50 pounds, team lift more.

Preferred:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in construction, with 3+ years as a traveling superintendent.
• Certified construction manager or professional constructor certification.
