Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
Serve as the field leader and primary site representative for the company.
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and material deliveries.
Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
Conduct daily site walks, quality inspections, and safety audits.
Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements.
Review plans, specifications, and construction documents.
Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and daily planning efforts.
Communicate project status, risks, and updates to leadership.
Identify field issues and develop solutions to maintain project timelines.
Track production progress and document daily activities.
Coordinate owner/client walkthroughs and punch list activities.
Support project startup, execution, turnover, and final closeout.
Maintain project documentation, reports, photos, and progress updates.
Work closely with clients to ensure successful project delivery.
5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction.
Experience in commercial renovation, retail buildout, fit-out, or tenant improvement.
Ability to independently manage projects with minimal oversight.
Strong subcontractor management experience.
Understanding of sequencing, scheduling, and field coordination.
Valid driver's license.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Comfortable working directly with clients and within occupied facilities.
Preferred experience in restaurant remodels, tenant improvements, and commercial interiors.
Experience with facilities renovations, multi-site commercial programs, and occupied renovation projects.
Traveling superintendent experience.
OSHA certifications, including OSHA 30.
College degree preferred.
This role requires travel assignments as needed, with potential evening or night work depending on project schedules. Typically, you will manage one project at a time. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, IN.
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $43.27/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
