What you’ll do

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will be working on exciting projects in different markets, often with extended overnight stays out of town. Travel may range from 90 miles from a local rand* office to other states across the country. The Superintendent is responsible for all the field staff on a project and will make sure that projects are built according to plans and specifications. They will supervise work of all subcontractors, vendors, laborers and other project stakeholders, ensuring that the material, tools and equipment are available as needed. The Superintendent handles all correspondence and forms required by the rand* office, such as daily reports, time sheets, safety reports and accident reports. They monitor the work being performed, direct subcontractors, and schedule all work according to the project schedule, while promoting rand*’s reputation for exceptional client service.

Qualified Candidates Will Possess The Following
  • High School Diploma or equivalent trades experience; college experience preferred.
  • 15 years’ experience as a lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail or building renovation projects.
  • Exemplary performance in all project safety categories.
  • Periodic audit of jobsites during site walks to ensure standards are met.
  • Assistance with complex quality control issues and pre‑punch walks to identify quality trends.
  • Training and coaching of Superintendents at all levels to meet rand*’s high administrative and organizational standards.
  • OSHA 30; OSHA Competent Persons training preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects up to $10 M.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
Preferred Candidates Will Also Possess The Following Skills
  • 10+ years’ experience as a lead superintendent on commercial interior, retail or building renovation projects.
  • Proven track record of independent judgment and decision‑making in executive or non‑routine matters.
  • Ability to anticipate and be proactive.
  • Professional, diplomatic interaction with individuals at all levels.
  • Troubleshooting and solving highly complex project‑related issues with all levels of team members.
  • Managing deadlines and delivering as needed.
  • Prioritizing multiple assignments with a strong attention to detail.
Physical Job Demands & Working Conditions

This is a travel role. Travel may range from 90 miles from a local rand* office to other states across the country.
