Position Summary

The Clinical Education Specialist provides professional education and clinical support to STERIS Customers in infection prevention, reprocessing, and perioperative practice. Provides input in the development of educational materials, offers clinical support and education, and consults to improve Customer processes in using STERIS products/services. Supports the sales team in achieving their financial goals.

Responsibilities

1. Supports the IPT Sales Team as Sterile Processing subject matter experts to build Customer confidence, increase product revenue, and promote STERIS solutions.
2. Supports IPT Marketing by providing clinical expertise for new product launches and existing product concerns.
3. Assists Product Managers with VOC, feasibility studies, prelaunch activities, troubleshooting, and content review.
4. Works directly with Customers, Dealer Reps, and Sales/Support teams through visits, training, and communication.
5. Supports product in-servicing and plans educational seminars and workshops.
6. Audits Customer work processes and equipment use, identifies improvement opportunities, and documents findings.
7. Communicates audit results and recommendations to Customers and internal teams.
8. Handles serious Customer issues with thorough investigation and coordination with relevant departments.
9. Develops relationships with healthcare professionals and industry organizations.
10. Maintains knowledge of sterile processing practices, participates in trade shows, and represents STERIS professionally.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6+ years of clinical experience.
• Expertise in Central Supply Processing/ Sterile Processing Department.
• Experience in perioperative practice, infection control, or reprocessing.
• At least 2 professional certifications (e.g., CRCST, CIS, CHL, CER, CIC, CNOR).
• Reside in California and able to travel up to 70%.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with credentialing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
• Leadership experience in hospital SPD.
• Experience in OR, Infection Prevention, or Endoscopy.
