Position Summary

The Clinical Education Specialist provides professional education and clinical support to STERIS Customers in infection prevention, reprocessing, and perioperative practice. They contribute to the development of educational materials, provide clinical support and education, and adopt a consultative approach to improve Customer processes in using STERIS products/services. This role adds value by supporting the sales force in achieving their financial objectives.

Requirements

• This is a remote-based customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in California and able to travel within the territory as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Support the IPT Sales Team as Sterile Processing subject matter experts to build Customer confidence, increase product line revenue, and promote STERIS solutions.
2. Assist in the development and market launch of new products or services, providing clinical expertise and feedback.
3. Support Product Managers with VOC, feasibility studies, troubleshooting, and content review.
4. Engage directly with Customers, Dealer Representatives, and Sales/Service teams through visits, presentations, and hands-on training.
5. Conduct audits of Customer work processes, identify improvement opportunities, and document findings.
6. Address serious Customer issues with thorough investigation and communication, involving relevant departments as needed.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and participate in industry events.
8. Maintain professional knowledge in sterile processing practices and contribute to educational tools and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 6 years of clinical experience, with expertise in Central Supply Processing / Sterile Processing Department.
• Professional certifications such as CRCST, CIS, CHL, CER, CIC, CNOR required within 12 months of hire.
• Must reside in California and be able to travel up to 70%.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with hospital credentialing requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor of Nursing degree (BSN) preferred.
• Leadership experience in hospital SPD (Manager or Director level) preferred.
• Expertise in Operating Room, Infection Prevention/Control, or Endoscopy preferred.

Additional Information
