Job summary

Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette, Arkansas is seeking a Traveling Phlebotomist in the Laboratory department. You will draw and register specimens, deliver results, and perform data entry while providing compassionate patient care.

Travel to facilities in surrounding areas and weekend shifts are required. A high school diploma and phlebotomy certification, plus a valid driver's license and BLS, are necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate or Certified Office Laboratory Technician preferred; on-the-job training acceptable.
• Five years phlebotomy experience with geriatric specimen collection.
• Current BLS certification with recertification as needed.
• Valid driver's license; background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Draw and register specimens from patients of all ages.
• Deliver results and perform data entry with accuracy.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, coworkers and other departments.
• Process specimens and coordinate with reference labs as needed.
• Travel to facilities in surrounding areas; occasional weekend work required.

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH), located in Gravette, Arkansas has an opening for a TravelingPhlebotomistwithin our Laboratory department.

Under direction of the Lab Services Director, the Specimen Processor is responsible for independently drawing and registering specimens and delivering results. The Specimen Processor must demonstrate skills in obtaining specimens from all age groups serviced utilizing a variety of blood collection devices and safety devices. They must also demonstrate good clerical skills and computer skills in data entry and communications skills with patients, coworkers, and other departments. This position is also responsible for specimen processing of samples sent to approved reference labs and other lab departments. Traveling to facilities in surrounding areas and working weekends is required for this position

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A certificate in Phlebotomy from an accredited phlebotomy course or Certified Office Laboratory Technician, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) is preferred. On the job training is also acceptable.
• Must have (5) five years of phlebotomy experience, with experience in geriatric specimen collection.
• Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Recertification required before expiration throughout employment.
• Valid Driver's License required. This position may require a Motor Vehicle Driving Record Background Check to be completed during the onboarding new hire process and throughout employment.
