Job summary

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) in Gravette, Arkansas, seeks a Traveling Phlebotomist in its Laboratory department. This role involves drawing and registering specimens, processing samples, and delivering timely results while traveling to surrounding facilities.

Weekend shifts are required. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 5 years of phlebotomy experience (geriatric collection preferred), and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; on-the-job training acceptable.
  • Five years of phlebotomy experience, with geriatric specimen collection.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross; recertification required.
  • Valid driver's license; potential motor vehicle background check during onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Draw and register specimens from all age groups and deliver results.
  • Perform specimen processing of samples sent to approved reference labs and other lab departments.
  • Utilize data entry and computer skills for accurate record-keeping and communications.
  • Travel to facilities in surrounding areas; weekends work is required for this position.

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH), located in Gravette, Arkansas has an opening for a TravelingPhlebotomistwithin our Laboratory department.

Under direction of the Lab Services Director, the Specimen Processor is responsible for independently drawing and registering specimens and delivering results. The Specimen Processor must demonstrate skills in obtaining specimens from all age groups serviced utilizing a variety of blood collection devices and safety devices. They must also demonstrate good clerical skills and computer skills in data entry and communications skills with patients, coworkers, and other departments. This position is also responsible for specimen processing of samples sent to approved reference labs and other lab departments. Traveling to facilities in surrounding areas and working weekends is required for this position

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A certificate in Phlebotomy from an accredited phlebotomy course or Certified Office Laboratory Technician, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) is preferred. On the job training is also acceptable.
  • Must have (5) five years of phlebotomy experience, with experience in geriatric specimen collection.
  • Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Recertification required before expiration throughout employment.
  • Valid Driver's License required. This position may require a Motor Vehicle Driving Record Background Check to be completed during the onboarding new hire process and throughout employment.
