Job summary

Cascade Environmental, LLC. is seeking a skilled drilling technician to operate drill rigs, maintain equipment, and support on-site crews across projects in the Southeast.

The role involves travel, extended shifts, and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic field environment. Ideal candidates have CDL Class A and State Driller licensing where possible, 3+ years of drilling experience, and the ability to pass background checks and DOT medical requirements.

Qualifications

  • CDL Class A and State Driller License is preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the drilling industry, with at least one year operating a variety of rigs.
  • Negative drug test.
  • Background check with satisfactory results.
  • Possessing a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory MVR.
  • Interstate DOT Medical Card and FMCSA compliance.
  • Passing a HAZWOPER physical.
  • Legal right to work in the United States (IRCA).
  • Respiratory protection may be required as per site health plans.

Responsibilities

  • Operate drill rigs and drilling equipment with high proficiency.
  • Maintain daily drilling reports.
  • Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and perform routine maintenance.
  • Lead a drilling crew through training and mentoring while maintaining safety.
  • Keep up-to-date with MSDS, CEU’s and JSA’s.
  • Approve employee timesheets.
  • Complete well logs, logbooks, repair orders, tailgates, and DVIRs.
  • Foster positive, professional relationships with team members and clients.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

  • We offer competitive pay and benefits –
    • Starting wage of $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
    • 2 Weeks paid Vacation; 7 paid holidays; 40 hours paid sick leave, at a minimum

    • Our Memphis location travels 100% of the time. Travel is within the Southeast region
    • Projects typically operate on a Monday - Friday schedule with occasional weekend and night shifts, depending on project requirements. Workday schedules may be 10 – 12 hours
    • Occasional travel on the weekends may be required

HERE’S AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO -
  • Operate drill rigs and drilling equipment with high proficiency
  • Maintain daily drilling reports
  • Ensure equipment is in safe working condition and conduct routine and preventative maintenance, as needed
  • Lead a drilling crew by training and mentoring employees and maintaining a safe environment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MSDS, CEU’s and JSA’s
  • Approve employee timesheets
  • Complete well logs, logbook, repair orders, tailgates, and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Promote positive and professional relationships with team members and clients
  • Maintain all required certifications
  • Be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Completes other duties and projects, as assigned
HERE’S WHAT WE REQUIRE -
  • CDL Class A and State Driller License is preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in the drilling industry, with at least one (1) year of experience operating a variety of rigs (i.e. sonic, rotary, auger)
  • Negative drug test
  • Satisfactory results of a background check (and your authorization to conduct a routine background check) – offenses will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
  • Possessing a valid Driver’s License for the state in which you reside and satisfactory results of a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is an essential requirement to function in this job
  • Obtaining and maintaining an interstate DOT Medical Card and meeting all Federal Interstate FMCSA requirements to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle
  • Passing a HAZWOPER physical
  • Verifying your legal right to work in the United States under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA)
  • Respiratory Protection will be required to be worn if specified by a site-specific Health and Safety Plan, or when air monitoring indicates potential for exposure levels to reach an established action, level, threshold limit value (TLV), or permissible exposure limit (PEL).To comply with health and safety standards to protect against workplace hazards, employees may be required to shave or maintain facial hair in a manner that ensures a proper seal for respirator use.
