Job summary

Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Shear Stud and Decking Installer to install and secure sheet metal decking on steel structures across projects nationwide. You will weld decking where needed and perform shear stud installation, using hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools.

You must maintain tools, document time daily, and uphold OSHA and site safety standards. Expect 2–3 month project cycles with nationwide travel and on-site work in multiple states.

Qualifications

• 100% nationwide travel required.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs and work at heights over 40 feet.
• Experience using hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Preferred certifications listed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install and secure sheet metal decking on steel structures.
• Weld decking where needed and perform shear stud installation.
• Operate hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools with care.
• Maintain tools and equipment, document time and attendance daily.
• Uphold OSHA, customer, and company safety standards on every task.
