Role Summary

The Senior Superintendent will plan, manage, and execute all aspects of significantly complex or multiple projects. Responsibilities include managing the team, planning construction sequencing, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion, all in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities - Core

• Lead safety culture and create awareness for an injury-free environment.
• Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
• Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO.
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinate and manage the project site.
• Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
• Participate in progress and project OAC meetings.
• Create and manage project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Monitor project budgets and costs using project management systems.
• Communicate key project information to stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and logs.
• Approve and record cost information, and complete reports.
• Evaluate progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Manage material and equipment needs.
• Support procurement and approval processes.
• Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
• Manage timecard approval for accurate reporting.
• Ensure quality compliance and supervise closeout activities.
• Participate in project pursuit process and team planning.
• Partner with field leadership for staffing and project changes.
• Participate in negotiations and project reviews.
• Lead talent recruitment and promote diversity and inclusion.

• Manage multiple projects from planning to completion.
• Lead project teams with multiple superintendents.
• Influence delivery results and support company strategies.
• Provide training and engage in external community activities.
• Develop new business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
• Manage project risks and team deliverables.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Perform work accurately, timely, and with strong communication skills.
• Conduct effective presentations and proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
• Apply construction management fundamentals and build strong relationships.
• Deep knowledge of trades, self-perform work, budgets, and organizational resources.
• Understand document changes and impact on schedules.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years construction experience.
• 8+ years field supervision experience.
• Experience with Lean principles (preferred).

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Travel and/or relocation may be required.
• Exposure to extreme conditions and non-traditional hours.
