Job summary

Scott Humphrey is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on corrections and detention facility projects across Texas, Mississippi, and the Southern U.S. The role focuses on safety, schedule, cost control, and quality, with oversight of subcontractors and field personnel.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of superintendent experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to read drawings and specs. Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of superintendent experience on commercial, institutional, civil, or corrections-related projects.
• Proven ability to lead field teams and manage subcontractors to deliver scope on time and within budget.
• Experience reading drawings, specs, and schedules; proficiency with construction software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite leadership for all phases of assigned construction projects.
• Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractor performance, productivity, and quality.
• Ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Maintain project documentation to support field management and coordination.
• Implement and enforce QC/QA programs.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve construction challenges.
• Promote a strong safety culture and injury-free work environment.
• Collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners for project success.
• Lead daily field operations and maintain clear communication among stakeholders.
