Role Summary

This is a 100% Full-Time Traveling role. While this position lists our Atlanta office, it will support our Nationwide Aviation Vertical footprint. The ideal candidate does not need to reside in Atlanta.


The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all aligned with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Perform safety audits, document findings, and recommend abatement of hazards.
  • Oversee safety orientation and compliance with drug and alcohol policies.
  • Monitor subcontractors' safety programs.
  • Participate in project meetings to address safety matters.
  • Support safety program implementation and chair safety meetings.
  • Investigate accidents and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate injury management and compile injury reports.
  • Monitor safety incentive programs.
Additional Responsibilities - Senior Safety Specialist

In addition to core duties, the Senior Safety Specialist will:

  • Handle more complex safety hazards and provide advanced solutions.
  • Utilize extensive safety knowledge to recommend project-specific safety measures.
  • Contribute actively in meetings and safety communications.
  • Perform trend analysis and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance on safety topics.
  • Assist with insurance audits and oversee complex projects.
  • Develop and implement safety training strategies and programs.
  • Monitor safety metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Deliver in-person and virtual safety training sessions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and hazard recognition.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu.
  • Minimum 5 years construction safety experience required.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
