Job description

Role Summary

The Project Manager 2 will provide overall direction and leadership on moderately complex projects, or a portion of large construction projects. This position will fully implement and manage the operation and administration of projects. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE

  • Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment, investigating safety incidents, and retraining staff as needed.
  • Manages the JE Dunn prestart checklist form.
  • Supports preconstruction activities including quantity takeoff, trade coordination, scope development, bid package creation, and schedule development.
  • Leads buyout schedule planning, verifies pricing and scope, manages subcontractor issuance, and conducts gap analysis.
  • Manages submittal schedule setup, reviews and approves shop drawings and samples, and ensures timely return of approved submittals.
  • Coordinates with Logistics for material and equipment pricing, manages risk and bonding requirements, and maintains stakeholder communication.
  • Disseminates change requests, gathers subcontractor pricing, and manages project change approvals.
  • Leads project meetings, manages pay applications, develops project schedules, and updates them regularly.
  • Identifies schedule impacts, provides documentation for project decisions, and reports on project status and profitability.
  • Prepares project cost forecasts, reviews costs, and manages project closeout processes.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

  • Understands estimating, manages project risks, and oversees project business plans.
  • Utilizes experience to identify problems and recommend solutions, manages internal deliverables, and builds external relationships.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Accuracy, timeliness, and effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling software, and construction technology.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and manage budgets for profitability.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 7+ years in construction management, with preferred experience in industrial, EV battery/automotive, warehouse/distribution, manufacturing, or food & beverage projects.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 25 pounds, travel, work non-traditional hours, and exposure to extreme conditions.
