Job description

Role Summary

The Project Manager 2 will provide overall direction and leadership on moderately complex projects or parts of large construction projects, implementing and managing project operations in alignment with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture and promote an injury-free environment, investigating incidents and retraining staff as needed.
  • Manage preconstruction activities including quantity takeoff, trade coordination, scope review, bid development, and schedule creation.
  • Lead buyout schedule planning, verify pricing, scope, and manage subcontractor issuance.
  • Oversee submittal schedules, review shop drawings and samples, and ensure timely approval and distribution.
  • Coordinate logistics for materials and equipment, and manage risk assessments and subcontractor approvals.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, manage change requests, and lead project meetings.
  • Prepare and review project schedules, manage resources, and identify schedule impacts.
  • Maintain project documentation, provide regular status reports, and manage financial forecasts and project closeout processes.
Additional Responsibilities

Understand estimating processes, manage project risks, and engage in external business activities to strengthen relationships.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong work accuracy, communication, presentation, and software skills.
  • Deep understanding of construction management, project processes, and budgeting.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and apply Lean principles.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of construction management experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing sectors.
Working Environment & Benefits
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 25 pounds, and willingness to travel or work non-traditional hours.
