Traveling Project Manager - DoD Construction

The KOMAN Family of Companies offers a lucrative career opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with Federal Government Contracting experience, willing and able to travel to different military installations across the U.S. for short- and long-term construction assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects including renovations, design/build, design/bid/build, and ground-up projects for USACE, NAVFAC, Air Force, Coast Guard, and other federal entities.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, milestones, and projections.
  • Monitor progress and revise schedules as needed to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Manage project financials including budgets, projections, and forecasts.
  • Prepare reports, financial updates, and scorecards for management and clients.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and maintain clear communication channels.
  • Oversee administrative teams and field supervisors.
  • Collaborate with superintendents to ensure progress and resolve issues promptly.
  • Support estimating during the bidding process.
  • Oversee project close-out reports.
  • Participate in personnel evaluations and development plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project management experience.
  • At least 5 years of federal government contracting experience, preferably with USACE or NAVFAC.
  • CQM Certification, OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR / AED highly desired.
  • Natural desire to coach and mentor teams.
  • Strong technical and computer skills necessary for success.
