The Project Manager is responsible for managing all requirements for Civil and Construction projects, including change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial setup, updates, and scheduling to ensure projects are completed with quality, profitability, safety, and timeliness.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Heavy Civil Construction or CCR (Coal Combustion Residuals) on a civil construction site.

Location & Travel Details: This position is location-based, covering worksites throughout the project area, requiring an average of 50% travel. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, along with per diem for travel expenses.

Responsibilities:

  1. Meet or exceed client expectations in all project aspects.
  2. Organize and staff key field positions, collaborating with leadership.
  3. Establish project objectives, policies, and standards within corporate boundaries.
  4. Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate construction.
  5. Monitor and control construction progress, schedule, and budget, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  6. Represent the company in meetings and negotiations.
  7. Manage financial aspects of contracts and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.
  8. Coordinate project activities, resolve problems, and ensure adherence to policies.
  9. Ensure construction activities support project schedules and client requirements.
  10. Interpret design drawings and coordinate material deliveries and subcontractor needs.
  11. Research and resolve drawing conflicts, prepare change requests and as-built drawings.
  12. Document project progress, issues, and work completed.
  13. Supervise and provide technical direction to engineers and crafts as needed.
  14. Address design discrepancies and prepare related documentation.
  15. Perform building control measurements and verifications.
  16. Verify construction progress for billing purposes.
  17. Assist in equipment scheduling and maintenance planning to reduce downtime.
  18. Coordinate safety activities and compliance with safety standards.
  19. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, estimating software, and scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Understanding of civil engineering practices and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of earthwork, stormwater management, utilities, and related infrastructure.
  • Strong management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and manage multiple priorities effectively.
