Job Overview

This is a traveling MEP PX role. The position requires travel assignments to our data centers throughout the southern region, with a monthly travel stipend provided. The salary range for this position is estimated at $140,000–$200,000 annualized. Position Description

Lead, manage, and coordinate all phases of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) work on one or more construction projects of significant complexity and scale, from preconstruction through closeout. Oversee project team, risk, and operations to ensure project success.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
  • Develop operational plans for coordinating and implementing all phases of MEP work for one or concurrent construction projects of significant complexity and scale from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Lead multiple MEP disciplines through the preconstruction process, facilitate project launch, and convey strategic MEP system design and operational considerations.
  • Partner, champion, support, and validate opportunities to collaborate with other Turner entities and resources to optimize project operations and increase service offerings and capabilities.
  • Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and alignment of project teams to support project goals and priorities.
  • Engage with project team regularly on site to maintain continuity with project activities throughout all phases, set expectations, define roles and responsibilities, act as a resource to resolve matters, and guide teams in implementing company initiatives and adopting technologies.
  • Guide project teams and stakeholders to adopt Turner business ethics and compliance programs.
  • Know and understand project contract obligations, manage expectations, uphold obligations with team and stakeholders throughout the life of the project, and provide leadership for risk evaluations, contract negotiations, fees, and pricing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain long‑lasting relationships with clients, design professionals, trades/subcontractors, and organizations to enhance future business development opportunities.
  • Provide leadership to develop high‑performing teams, foster a supportive and inclusive environment, and promote Turner's Active Caring philosophy with teams, trades/subcontractors, and clients.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert to guide and support development of specialty MEP construction expertise and knowledge across projects; track employee developmental progress to promote training and education.
  • Provide overall MEP team leadership, supervise managers across disciplines, deliver performance feedback for direct reports, contribute to performance appraisals during the annual cycle, utilize talent‑management systems, and identify appropriate training.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and/or Construction Executive to manage workforce planning for staff capacity to support specific project demands, and review plans with project, Resource Officer, and Human Resources leadership teams.
  • Ensure all MEP team members adhere to Turner's most current standard practices for operational excellence, including Safety, Project Launch, Production Control System, Scheduling, Engineering, Commissioning, and Quality.
  • Oversee the development of master MEP project schedules and manage implementation.
  • Develop, with the Construction Executive, a Master Production Plan schedule and oversee detailed production planning with Turner staff and subcontractors in accordance with the schedule.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, plus a minimum of 15 years of related MEP and/or Special Systems experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Broad experience with construction projects of progressive responsibility and increasing scale for MEP systems.
  • Well‑rounded construction experience in both project and office positions, including Preconstruction, Procurement, Engineering, Superintendent, Scheduling, and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of MEP innovation, trends, and key technical relationships.
  • Extensive knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering principles, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, including self‑awareness, social awareness, self‑management, and relationship management.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for addressing and resolving complex problems.
  • Ability to lead and manage through ambiguity and changing environments and demands.
  • Leadership skills and management experience, able to mentor, guide, and develop teams; delegate work; observe performance; and deliver feedback.
  • Executive presence and presentation delivery skills with effective negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to lead confidential discussions, influence leadership decision‑making, determine direction, and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement concepts, methodologies, and tools.
Physical Demands

Employee frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands, talk, and hear. Requires use of computer monitor and keyboard. Physical ability to climb stairs, use hoists, climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction. Regular travel short and long distances. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Work occurs at construction sites with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, weather conditions, and electrical shock risk. Noise is usually moderate to loud. Employee must comply with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
