Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Pipe Welder to perform welding and pipe fitting on large industrial projects across North America.

This role requires extensive travel, with a 10-day tour schedule and 50–60 hour weeks, welding 2"–6" pipes and critical components, while upholding safety standards. You will operate grinders, torches, and rigging tools, support insulation and electrical work, and contribute to on-site fabrication, commissioning, and long-term system

Qualifications

• Must pass a 6G weld test prior to employment.
• Extensive travel with 10-day tours and long shifts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive up to 10 hours.
• Experience with high-pressure steam, gas, or process piping systems.
• Pre-employment drug testing required.
• Background check and driving record required; DUI within last 5 years disqualifies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Weld pipe from 3/4" to 18" diameter, commonly 2"–6".
• Weld on compressors, vessels, evaporators, condensers, and pre-fabricated assemblies.
• Cut, bevel, fit pipes and perform open root welding without inserts.
• Complete up to 50 diameter inches of weld per day.
• Operate grinders, wire wheels, torches, and rigging tools.
• Assist with insulation, electrical, and painting on-site.
• Maintain safe, clean, productive jobsite.
• Follow welding procedures and precise measurement techniques.
