Job description

Florida Dental Centers – Pinellas Park is seeking an experienced Traveling Periodontic Dental Assistant to support our clinical team by delivering high-quality patient care in a team-based environment.

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:30AM - 12:30PM, 1:30PM - 5:30PM

Position Overview:

As a Dental Assistant, you will be a vital part of our care team, supporting the office and assisting dental professionals with treatments. We are committed to providing excellent dental care and creating positive patient experiences. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, assist during procedures
  • Welcome and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, maintain study models
  • Ensure infection control, maintain patient confidentiality, follow safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate records, schedule appointments, and assist with patient intake if needed
  • Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or at least 1 year of on-the-job experience
  • X-Ray certification in FL
  • Nitrous Oxide certification (highly recommended)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to travel to other Florida Dental Center offices as needed (travel reimbursement included)

Dental Assistants are also required to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as mandated by law.
