Job summary

Children Dental Funzone is seeking a Traveling Licensed Orthodontic Assistant to join our pediatric dental practice in the Los Angeles area. The role involves providing orthodontic support across locations, maintaining hygiene and equipment, and educating families on preventive care.

The ideal candidate holds a California Orthodontic Assistant License, has at least 3 years of relevant experience, and can travel between locations.

Qualifications

• Orthodontic Assistant License in California required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Orthodontic Assistant.
• X-ray Certificate required and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize instruments and set up trays to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain and test equipment such as sterilizers and x-ray processors.
• Pour models and conduct lab procedures as needed.
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Document exam findings in patient records and perform charting.
• Maintain clean, stocked operatory and laboratory.
• Collaborate with Dentists and team on preventive activities.
• Follow protective protocols to ensure safety.

Job Type

• Full Time, Mon‑Fri 8:00 am‑5:00 pm; some Saturdays & Sundays 8:00 am‑2:00 pm
• $35‑$40.00/Hr.

Job Duties

• Familiarity with dental terminology, materials, medications and instruments used during dental procedures
• Perform the following tasks to ensure efficiency: clean, sterilize instruments, and set up trays
• Maintain and test equipment (sterilizer, x‑ray dosimetry, x‑ray processor, etc.)
• Effectively pour models and conduct other lab procedures
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene and preventive dental care education
• Perform charting activities and document exam findings in a patient record
• Maintain clean, orderly, and well‑stocked operatory and laboratory
• Work in conjunction with Staff Dentists/Dental team to develop and implement preventive dental activities for the community
• Safely perform all duties of protective protocols to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of others

Desired Profile/Background

• Orthodontic Assistant License in California Required
• Must love working with children
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Orthodontic Assistant
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle required
• X‑ray Certificate
• An upbeat personality is a must
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of Dentrix
• Bi‑Lingual (Spanish) preferred
