Job summary

PDS Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to support clinicians and deliver the Perfect Patient Experience across our offices. You will prepare patients, assist with procedures, take radiographs, and maintain sterile operatory conditions to facilitate efficient, high-quality care.

You will collaborate with specialty teams, front/back office staff, and Lead Dental Assistants, while traveling between offices as needed. A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required for specialty roles.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED with required state certification/training.
• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent.
• Specialty dental assistants must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per state Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
• Support PPE to keep patients focused on optimal treatment.
• Escort patients to front desk and introduce to team members.
• Coordinate with front/back office to keep orthodontists’ schedule on track.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful operatory environment.
• Sterilize instruments and disinfect equipment per guidelines.
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to ensure efficiency.
• Take radiographs and intra-oral photos as directed.
• Prepare tray setups and replenish supplies for each operatory.
• Keep mouths dry and clear during procedures using suction.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral care.
• Record patient charting and clinician notes in the digital chart.
• Present treatment records, consents, and health history to clinician.
