Dr Lane & Associates is actively seeking a Traveling Oral Surgery Assistant to support our Oral Surgeon and Sedation Dentist across designated practices in Durham, NC. You will travel to practices, assist during procedures, prep equipment, and help ensure patient comfort and safety throughout surgical care.

The role requires Dental Assistant Certification, BLS, and NC X-Ray certification, with strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold Dental Assistant Certification.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Valid North Carolina X-Ray Certification for dental practice.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sedation Dentist/Oral Surgeon during all patient care phases.
• Accurately document patient medical histories.
• Prepare and seat patients for treatment, ensuring comfort.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.
• Set up for surgical procedures and monitor vital signs.
• Assist with anesthesia readiness and IV sedation procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient logs and safe counts with the doctor.
• Manage Emergency Drug Box and Crash Cart readiness.
• Capture radiographs and CT scans as needed.
• Prepare Pre-Op and Post-Op letters and clearances.
• Track prosthetic cases and ensure readiness for appointments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
