Job summary

The Traveling Multi Trade Carpenter at Sevan Multi is a travel-intensive crafts role performing interior construction across tenant improvements and renovation projects nationwide in support of self-perform operations. You will work under a Foreman, framing, drywall, ceilings, doors, finish carpentry, flooring prep, and more, with frequent travel to project sites.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Three or more years of commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Experience across multiple interior construction disciplines.
  • OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specs to determine requirements.
  • Perform metal stud framing and drywall hanging with finishing.
  • Install gypsum board systems and acoustical ceilings.
  • Finish carpentry including trim and millwork installation.
  • Perform flooring prep and surface preparation.
  • Load, unload, stage materials and maintain a clean, safe site.
  • Travel to project locations nationwide and coordinate with project team.

Summary

The Traveling Multi Trade Carpenter is a highly skilled craft professional responsible for performing a wide range of interior construction activities on tenant improvement renovation retail refresh and light industrial projects throughout the United States This is a travel intensive role requiring deployment to project locations nationwide in support of Sevans self perform operations Working under the direction of a Foreman andor Superintendent this role performs framing drywall ceilings doors hardware finish carpentry flooring preparation punch work and other non licensed interior construction activities Travel & Location Requirements Candidates must reside in the Dallas Fort Worth MetroplexExtensive nationwide travel is requiredEmployees should expect to travel to project locations for extended periods based on business needsCompany paid lodging travel accommodations and applicable per diem are provided in accordance with company policy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints plans drawings sketches and specifications to determine project requirements Take measurements and calculate material quantities required for installation Perform metal stud framing backing installation and layout for interior construction projects Install gypsum board systems including drywall hanging patching and basic finishing activities Install doors frames hardware accessories and related interior components Install and modify acoustical ceiling systems ACT Perform finish carpentry and trim installation including base casing millwork and miscellaneous specialties Perform flooring preparation activities including patching leveling grinding underlayment installation and surface preparation Perform or support tile installation activities based on project requirements Complete punch list items and assist with project closeout activities Perform selective demolition and removal of existing materials as required Load unload transport and stage materials and equipment Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment Execute assigned work activities under the direction of the Foreman and coordinate effectively with project team membersPerform work with minimal supervision and support the development of less experienced craft employeesTravel to project locations as required Participate in safety meetings training and company safety initiatives Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferredSuccessful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program preferredThree 3 or more years of commercial construction tenant improvement interior renovation retail hospitality industrial or related construction experience preferredExperience performing multiple interior construction disciplines including metal stud framing drywall installation acoustical ceilings ACT doorsframeshardware finish carpentry flooring preparation and punch list activitiesExperience performing selective demolition material handling and project closeout activitiesAbility to read and interpret construction drawings specifications and related construction documentsCompetent use of hand tools power tools equipment and measuring devices commonly used in commercial constructionExperience working on occupied facilities renovation projects or active construction environments preferredOSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 preferredAbility and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States

This is a travel intensive field based role supporting projects nationwide Extensive travel to work on site at active construction locations for extended periods based on project needs Must have ability to stoop stand climb frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs Regularly required to crouch and reach to installmove equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine Involves movement between floors and properties to facilitate work Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you
