Job summary

McClatchy Media seeks a part-time Merchandiser to service multiple stores in the Glen Allen, VA area. The role involves on-site merchandising, travel between accounts, and adherence to a fixed weekly schedule.

Applicants should have general merchandising experience or the ability to learn, strong communication skills, and reliable transportation for travel. The position pays a competitive wage with travel time included and may offer a retention/referral bonus after 3 months.

Qualifications

• General merchandising experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask and detail-oriented.
• Conduct self in a professional manner.
• Adherence to the company’s attendance policy.
• Reliable transportation for travel.
• Able to use Movista and/or other company-required applications.
• Have personal cell phone and mobile device, such as a tablet.
• Proficient with Word, the internet, and email applications.

Responsibilities

• Merchandise products in retail stores per standards and replenish stock.
• Assemble shelves/racks and display cases following measurement guidelines.
• Service all stores as scheduled within allotted hours.
• Seek supervisor approval before working outside scheduled hours.
• Contact Supervisor before working more than 10 hours in a workday or overtime.
• Record work hours and other company-related information using designated applications.
• Discuss duties with Supervisor before performing those duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
