Job Overview

Newbury Residential is seeking a Traveling Maintenance Technician for our new acquisitions in the Nashville, TN area. This role involves traveling between various properties in the area to assist with maintenance tasks and apartment make-readies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and be proactive in ensuring that all maintenance operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Position Description:

  • Maintenance Support: Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative work orders across multiple properties.
  • Apartment Turnovers: Perform make-ready tasks to prepare apartments for new residents, including repairs, painting, and cleaning.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely completion of construction and maintenance projects.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with residents, employees, and contractors to ensure transparency and efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and address maintenance issues proactively, implementing solutions to improve property operations.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce repair costs.
  • Documentation: Maintain notes on all work orders, progress updates, and ensure all tasks are completed according to schedule and budget.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience: Multi-family maintenance experience is preferred. HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Leadership: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks across different properties.
  • Skills: Technical expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance problems.

Necessary Special Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Computer proficiency
  • Provide own tools
  • Availability for emergency on-call work orders

Schedule:

  • 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday
  • On call as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Nashville, TN: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
  • HVAC (Preferred)
