Job description

Job Description: Timberlyn Lighting has been in business for 30 years, and we have worked hard to earn a reputation as one of the top lighting contractors in the industry. We are looking for a traveling licensed electrician to join our growing team and take advantage of the many benefits of working at Timberlyn Lighting.

This position is a 100% traveling/over-the-road.

A journeyman's license is but not required. The successful candidate will be required to run and bend conduit, make modifications to solar circuitry, etc. Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds.

Applicants must have a valid driver's license and pass a drug test.

Prerequisite for employment: Must complete and pass the ICC F16 Master Journeyman Exam on NEC 2014 guidelines or have a valid electrical license.

Licensed Electrician Job Responsibilities
  • Able to travel 100% of the time
  • Assist crews on other projects that may have questions on installations.
  • Assist in the installation and repairs.
  • Use learned knowledge of the industry to offer solutions of various obstacles that may arise while on the job site.
  • Assist Project Manager with daily responsibilities
  • Finding solutions to issues that may occur, i.e. receive phone calls (technical install questions) throughout the night from field staff and assist in delegating project tasks based on staff members strengths, skill sets, & experience levels
  • Coordination of technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope of work
  • Coach and Supervise staff to ensure productive progression of newly hired staff
  • Provide performance feedback to Crew Leader in charge
  • Assist Crew Leaders with implementing changes to the project scope once received
  • Instruct employees in proper work methods and Timberlyn Lighting standards
  • Monitor crew work quality
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform work tasks drawn out by your Project Manager (tasks may change/ they are project specific)
  • Operate all equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, i.e. assist Operations Manager to implement new safe work practices and provide feedback on new procedures and safety equipment implemented into the field vie Operations Manager
  • Audit project locations to ensure planning, execution, project close are completed within time of scope provided from client
Licensed Electrician - Other Requirements
  • Journeyman or electrical license of some degree
  • Understand and comply with electrical codes
  • Reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Installing all types of conduit (including rigid)
  • Install new wire in existing systems or repairing old wiring
  • Providing power and controls to motors, HVAC, and other equipment
  • Mounting panel boards, transformers, switch gear, transfer switches, and other various types of equipment
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
