Job description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Leadperson to be responsible for assisting local leadership with daily operations expectations. This includes solving basic issues, safety compliance, training, and the ability to cover positions within their scope of responsibility. This position will primarily be based at our Carlise Sand Plant and travel to sites in Central Iowa and Eastern Nebraska.
This position is paid a competitive hourly wage as well as drive time pay, mileage pay, and $175 per diem pay when not working at the base location.
Essential Functions

1. Communicate daily expectations for local leadership based on the safety, quality, and production needs.
2. Provide training to new hires and transfer employees to ensure competencies are developed.
3. Perform data entry operations for safety and production control and communication.
4. Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation.
5. Must make regular inspections for safety, housekeeping, and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation.
6. Provide guidance to employees on safety rules, regulations, and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, local agencies & MM policies.
7. Assist Plant Management with covering schedule gaps as needed.
8. Complete daily production, safety, and maintenance reports accurately.
9. Responsible for maintaining quality of all products.
10. Maintain housekeeping and appearance standards as established.
11. Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job operates frequently in an operations and maintenance environment in a sand dredging operation. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that may require long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel between sand plants will be required. Travel between plants in both Iowa and Eastern Nebraska.
