Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Traveling Project Superintendent to serve as the lead field superintendent on commercial construction projects across the United States. This role requires extensive travel and oversight from mobilization through project completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ground-up commercial construction and experience on banks, credit unions, financial institutions, corporate facilities, or other high-end commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Lead or project superintendent on ground-up commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and field operations.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades on complex projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong safety and quality-control practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Superintendent and primary field leader on assigned projects.
• Oversee all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate daily activities and sequencing of multiple trades.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and communicate progress to the Project Manager and leadership team.
• Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Monitor workmanship, quality control, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify potential conflicts or issues.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure work meets applicable codes and project requirements.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, architects, owners, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Track and communicate project progress, schedule changes, delays, and field issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
• Help resolve field conflicts and provide solutions to keep the project moving forward.
• Ensure projects are completed with a high level of attention to detail and finish quality.
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover.
