Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) to work under a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices on commercial/industrial projects. You will install, alter and repair electrical systems and read project drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, bending and installing conduit, terminating devices, and mentoring junior staff on site.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Tools required by company policy and ability to use them.
• Aptitude to learn across divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices and hand tools.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels and conductors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of circuiting.
• Read project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
