Job description

Overview
  • Traveling position
  • Prevailing Wage work (up to $75/hr)
  • Schedule: Traveling for 10 days (2 paid travel days + 8 working days) and 4 days off
  • Hotels paid for by FSG
  • Employee will be based out of Cincinnati

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. The ideal candidate will mentor and develop Apprentice Electricians, promote the core values of FSG through excellent customer service, and ensure the safety of all work.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsafe, unsightly, or unreliable wiring, in accordance with specifications, safety codes, and local electrical codes.
  • Design layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, Buss, Busbar, electrical feeders, power systems, and switchgear.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
  • Current Electrician’s License preferred but not required
  • Three to five years’ experience in the field
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive customer service skills
  • Experience in lighting is a plus

Pay Range
