Job summary

STRIKE is seeking an HSE Specialist to identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions using STRIKE's standards and best practices. The role requires frequent travel and the ability to be located away from home for the duration of projects.

You will plan and execute site HSE requirements, conduct daily meetings, and implement preventive measures. Travel is a key element of this position, with responsibilities spanning inspections, incident investigations, and training.

Qualifications

  • 4-10 years of construction HSE experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the site HSE function requirements.
  • Conduct daily site HSE meetings.
  • Implement preventive measures and improve unsafe conditions.
  • Perform job site analysis and institute safe work procedures.
  • Conduct daily HSE inspections and document findings.
  • Investigate accidents and facilitate return-to-work.
  • Manage injury and Workers’ Compensation matters.
  • Administrate the Substance Abuse Program, including testing.
  • Maintain site HSE documentation (reports, logs).
  • Conduct HSE training sessions for employees and supervisors.
  • Cooperate with sub-contractors on HSE and monitor their functions.
  • Investigate all incidents and near misses with prevention measures.
  • Participate in Root Cause investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, PHMSA, FMCSA, EPA, and state/local rules.
  • Develop temporary traffic control plans and procedures.
  • Interact professionally to maintain company integrity.
