Job Description

Join a team of elite travel physicians as a full-time TeamHealth special operations hospitalist providing care in our Lifepoint locations across the southeastern U.S. As part of the team, you'll gain a challenging, yet flexible career working in diverse practice settings - all while gaining first-class experience and an excellent compensation package.

Our special ops physicians assist with hospitalist coverage across the Southeast at Lifepoint programs in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, and more. Practice settings vary from small rural facilities to large regional care centers. TeamHealth supports you with licensure, travel, mentorship, credentialing support, leadership training, and an excellent compensation package.

Ideal candidates are board certified in internal medicine, able to round on 15-20 patients on a 12-hour shift, and flexible with day and night schedules. Comfort in various practice settings and good relationships with staff are essential. Our purpose is to perfect the practice of medicine, every day, in everything we do.

Clinical Requirements
  • Ability to round on 15-20 patients
  • Comfort with ICU patient rounding
  • Procedures preferred but not required (intubations, vents, lines)
  • Comfort with running codes
  • Board certification in internal medicine
  • ACLS certification
Availability Requirements
  • 180 hours per month
  • Willing to fly to Lifepoint sites
  • Quick credentialing and scheduling turnaround
  • Compliance with TeamHealth education requirements
  • Monthly rounding calls with leadership
Preferences
  • IM Board Certified
  • Minimum 3 years of attending physician experience
  • Licensed in at least one southeastern state
  • High performance with good quality metrics

Special Ops Physician

Members are credentialed at multiple hospital sites within a region. Adaptability, excellent communication, teamwork, and travel flexibility are required. Ability to perform procedures is a plus. Work nights, weekends, and some holidays with flexible scheduling options.
