Job summary

Daniels Health is seeking a versatile Travelling Handyman to support facility and plant operations across a growing multi-site footprint. This role handles general building maintenance and light repair work to keep locations safe, clean, and operational.

The Travelling Handyman will also support capital construction and equipment installation projects, travel ~50% and work with licensed trades under a General Contractor. CDL preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of general maintenance or handyman experience in commercial or multi-site facilities.
• Working across carpentry, drywall, painting, basic electrical, and basic plumbing.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic tools.
• Experience with capital construction or equipment installation preferred (autoclaves, wash lines, etc.).
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, and specs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (CA, TX, FL, GA prioritized).
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade-school preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air/ground.
• Background check/drug screen; OSHA 10-hour required.
• EPA 608 certification or lift training a plus.
• State/local handyman registration where required.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance & Repair: perform maintenance across facilities including drywall, painting, doors, locks, fixtures.
• Complete minor electrical and plumbing tasks within licensing rules.
• Assemble, install, and repair furniture, shelving, signage, and safety equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to work orders affecting uptime.
• Capital Project & Installation Support: assist site prep, demolition, punch-list for autoclave, wash line, compactors, boiler rooms.
• Coordinate with GC, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and subcontractors to keep scopes on schedule.
• Read drawings, work orders, and equipment specs to guide tasks.
• Stage materials and tools for trades to work efficiently on site.
• Multi-Site Travel & Coverage: travel ~50% across regions; CA, TX, FL, GA prioritized.
• Maintain flexibility for day and 2nd shift coverage.
• Transport and account for tools, materials, and equipment between sites.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Plant Managers, General Contractor, and maintenance stakeholders.
• Provide updates on job progress, material needs, and site conditions.
• Identify issues requiring licensed trades and escalate accordingly.
• Ensure minimal disruption to operations during repair work.
• Safety & Compliance: follow OSHA, local codes, and internal safety standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout, ladder, fall-protection, and safe power-tool procedures.
• Stay within scope for unlicensed work per jurisdiction.
