Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Generator Preventative Maintenance Technician (Traveling Service Tech). This field-based role offers multi-state travel across Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan with a pay rate of $20–$25/hr plus per diem.

This position requires 6+ months of hands-on maintenance experience, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to travel frequently while maintaining safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of hands-on maintenance experience (oil changes, fluid checks, etc.).
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of preventative maintenance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on generators (oil & filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication).
• Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, and mechanical issues.
• Accurately document all service work performed.
• Travel to job sites across Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan.
• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally.
• Follow all company safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Communicate job status and findings with supervisors and team members.
• Assist with additional maintenance and support tasks as needed.
