Job summary

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking a General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with strong wound care experience to join our surgical team. The APP will travel between Mercy Medical Center – Aurora and Holy Family – Des Plaines to provide wound management, debridement, and support of general surgery workflows.

This full-time, days role includes collaboration with physicians and nursing staff, plus a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of wound care experience.
• Licensed NP or PA in Illinois.
• Competency in wound debridement.
• Current BLS/ACLS (or ability to obtain before start date).
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to travel between Aurora and Des Plaines regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform wound assessments and wound debridement.
• Manage acute and chronic wounds with General Surgery team.
• Conduct patient evaluations and develop treatment plans.
• Provide pre- and post-operative surgical care and follow-ups.
• Document care in EMR in a timely, accurate, compliant manner.
• Coordinate care across clinical sites with surgical team.
