Role Summary

The General Superintendent will develop and execute the project plan and oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. This position is responsible for managing the team, planning all construction sequencing, and meeting project goals, supporting JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

SUPERINTENDENT FAMILY - CORE

• Leads the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment, investigating incidents, and retraining staff as needed.
• Manages subcontractors and organizes overall job workflow.
• Oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEOC on projects.
• Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
• Coordinates project site care, manages meetings, updates schedules, monitors budgets, and communicates key information to stakeholders.
• Ensures quality compliance and supports project closeouts.
• Participates in project pursuit, staffing, change management, and negotiation processes.
• Recruits top talent and promotes diversity and inclusion.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT

• Manages large, complex projects from start to finish, providing oversight to multiple projects and teams.
• Leads strategic initiatives, develops training content, and effectively communicates leadership messages.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, construction technology, scheduling software, and Lean principles.
• Deep knowledge of trades, self-perform work, labor productivity, budgeting, and layout skills.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu.
• 12+ years construction experience, with 10+ years in field supervision, including experience on large aviation projects.

Working Environment

• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
