As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Role Summary

The General Superintendent will develop and execute the project plan, oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity, manage the team, plan construction sequencing, and meet project goals, all aligned with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

This role requires travel and full-time on-site presence for projects across the United States.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture and demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate project site care, custody, and control.
  • Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project meetings and manage project schedule and documentation.
  • Monitor project budget and costs, and communicate key information to stakeholders.
  • Support project closeouts and understand project pursuit processes.
  • Partner with leadership to establish staffing, manage project changes, and negotiate with owners and architects.
  • Recruit top talent and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage large, complex projects from planning to completion.
  • Provide oversight to multiple projects and teams.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and develop training content.
  • Deliver leadership messages effectively.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of construction management fundamentals, trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to manage budgets, build relationships, and understand project documentation.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 12+ years construction experience, including 10+ years in field supervision.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
