Markit! Forestry is seeking a dedicated forestry equipment operator to support multiple projects across New Mexico and surrounding states. You will run heavy machinery, perform felling, slash handling and site maintenance while coordinating with foremen and the superintendent.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, a valid license, and the ability to travel 50–75% (up to 100%). Strong communication and safety focus are essential for success in this physically demanding environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in operating heavy machinery, forestry preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Able to pass pre-employment background check and work in team or independently.
• Excellent communication; able to work in varied weather on rough terrain.

Responsabilités

• Operate heavy forestry equipment (Mulcher, Excavator, Feller Buncher, Skid Steer) per project.
• Perform chainsaw felling, including directional felling, limbing and bucking.
• Manage slash, chipping, hauling; conduct road work and site clean-up.
• Ensure daily inspections and maintenance; report repairs as needed.
• Adhere to safety standards and participate in site maintenance training.
