Job summary

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Traveling Inspector to perform NFPA-based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The role requires full-time travel throughout Ohio to customer sites, with emphasis on quality workmanship and NFPA compliance.

The candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of inspection experience, and valid licenses. NICET certification is a plus; travel and driving requirements apply, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years’ experience performing inspections is required.
• Travel ability is required.
• Must retain an individual state license(s) to perform inspections.
• NICET Level II in water-based or fire alarm systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of NFPA 10, 25, and 72 is required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
• Ability to obtain required certifications including NICET.

Responsibilities

• Perform NFPA 25 based inspections on water-based fire systems and hydrants.
• Perform NFPA 72 based inspections on fire alarm systems.
• Perform NFPA 10 based inspections on fire extinguishers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on site and describe issues to owners/service managers.
• Monitor and assure progress/completion of all inspections.
• Submit tickets and reports to administrative personnel in a timely manner.
• Self-schedule daily inspections and upsell company capabilities to clients.
• Inspect from man lifts at elevations of 30–40 feet as needed.
• Carry out annual inspections on domestic and fire backflows.
