Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Traveling Fire Alarm Superintendent to lead field crews and oversee fire alarm installation on assigned projects. This hands-on leadership role balances installation, troubleshooting, and crew supervision while ensuring safety and quality standards.

You will coordinate daily field operations with the Project Manager, plan activities, manage materials, and communicate progress. Travel and extended site assignments are required, with opportunities to advance within Amteck's

Qualifications

5–6 years verified fire alarm installation and troubleshooting experience.
Ability to independently install fire alarm panels, devices, and cabling.
Ability to lead a field crew, provide direction, and train others.
Completion of OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training.
Strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel and remain at project sites for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and supervise field employees performing fire alarm system installation.
Install fire alarm panels, devices, and cabling independently.
Troubleshoot fire alarm system issues, including shorts, grounds, and open circuits.
Plan daily activities, crew assignments, and material needs to meet project schedules.
Communicate progress, potential issues, and upcoming staffing needs to the Project Manager.
Coordinate work with Amteck electrical teams, other supervisors, and contractors.
Maintain project task lists, punch lists, marked-up drawings, and closeout documentation.
Monitor material inventory and prepare for upcoming installation activities.
Enforce Amteck safety policies and procedures, address concerns, and document violations as required.
Participate in project meetings and testing activities as needed.
Promote accountability for safety, workmanship, customer satisfaction, and responsible use of project resources.
