Wachter is accepting applications for a Fire Alarm / Intrusion / Access Control Project Technician for installation and project work at various retail locations across the United States. Wachter, a leading nationwide solutions integrator, is seeking a motivated and reliable Project Technician to handle fire alarm and intrusion system installation and service projects across the United States.

Salary

$20 - $38 an hour

Responsibilities
  • Install and upgrade Fire Alarm and Intrusion systems at various retail locations nationwide.
  • Provide technical expertise for service and special installation projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site and remotely, providing effective solutions to ensure system functionality.
  • Collaborate with the team on pre-installation design and planning for technical solutions.
  • Perform new system installations and offer technical escalation support.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, providing excellent communication and support.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in field installation within security environments: Fire Alarm, Intrusion, and/or Access Control.
  • Current and valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, specifically NFPA 70 and 72.
  • Ability to travel frequently (a few weeks at a time) for projects across the United States.
  • Availability for day shifts (8 am - 5 pm) with occasional night shifts as needed.
  • Comfortable and willing to work at heights of 20-60 feet using lifts.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to find solutions.
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with computers, laptops, smartphones, email, and spreadsheets, with the ability to learn internal systems.
  • Possession of basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and reliable transportation during the initial training period (a company vehicle may be provided after this period).
Bonus Points
  • NICET certification (Levels I, II, or III).
  • Experience with multiple Intrusion and Access system manufacturers.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
