Base pay range

$19.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Location and Role

Clean Harbors in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Traveling Field Services Technician. This role involves hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. The position requires about 50% travel across the U.S. for Emergency Response projects. All travel expenses are paid, with per diem provided. Hours and schedule vary based on emergency needs. The starting wage is competitive, with potential pay increases within the first year. Training is provided during the initial two weeks at a paid academy, usually out of state.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and act safely at all times.
• Perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy objects.
• Operate equipment and tools, including vibration-producing tools.
• Use PPE properly, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle hazardous materials safely, including waste loading/unloading and sampling.
• Operate vehicles per DOT and other regulations.
• Attend safety meetings and ensure compliance.
• Be on call for emergency response, possibly working extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to be on-call and work extended hours during emergencies.
• Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Compliance with OSHA respiratory standards if respirators are required.

Preferred Qualifications
