Job summary

Rockford Corporation is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to support construction projects across the United States. The project location will be determined by current project needs and timing; candidates must be willing to travel and temporarily relocate based on assignment.

You'll assist with progress reporting, cost and quantity tracking, invoicing support, and Excel-based tracking while collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM/CE/ME expected by spring 2026.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced field environment.
• Willingness to travel and relocate for projects nationwide.
• Detail-oriented with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with cost reporting and quantity tracking processes.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Basics of scheduling and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily progress reporting and project documentation.
• Support quantity tracking and production monitoring.
• Prepare and assist with client invoicing and pay applications.
• Maintain and update Excel-based tracking worksheets.
• Assist with cost tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate with field supervision to verify installed quantities.
• Ensure documentation aligns with project specifications and contract requirements.
• Support overall project controls and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily progress reporting and project documentation
• Support quantity tracking and production monitoring
• Prepare and assist with client invoicing and pay applications
• Maintain and update Excel-based tracking worksheets
• Assist with cost tracking and reporting
• Coordinate with field supervision to verify installed quantities
• Ensure documentation aligns with project specifications and contract requirements

Qualifications

• Candidate has or will be receiving a bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields by spring 2026
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites across the United States
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Familiarity with cost reporting and quantity tracking processes
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications
