Job summary

Ledcor Group is seeking skilled excavator operators to support telecom construction across Arizona, South Dakota, and surrounding states. You will operate mini excavators and skid steers on civil and utility projects, with crew rotations to new locations roughly every four weeks.

You will read drawings, interpret utility locates, and install conduit for fiber optic installs while following safety procedures. Travel is required; valid driver’s license and LOA are provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating mini excavators and skid steers in utilities, roadbuilding, or a related industry.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is an asset.
• Ability to read construction drawings, interpret locates, and assess trench routes before digging.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate mini excavator and skid steer for earthwork.
• Excavate around existing utilities following locate procedures.
• Place soil and aggregate in lifts for compaction.
• Assist with conduit placement and cable installation.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Communicate clearly with crew to maintain safe production and meet project goals.
