Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Equipment Operator for the Midwest Region. Responsibilities include operating, maintaining and repairing heavy machinery on various job sites, and ensuring safety and compliance.

Extensive travel within the Midwest is required, with on-site training provided where needed. The ideal candidate has vocational training or apprenticeship experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with field personnel and leadership.

Qualifications

• Vocational training or apprenticeship is preferred.
• On-the-job training is offered.
• Must be able to pass required safety certifications.

Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operating, maintaining, repairing, and cleaning the equipment in a safe manner including:
  • Concrete pumps, skid steerers, excavators, specialty drill rigs, etc. depending on the experience of the applicant. On the job training available.
• Record keeping as required to assure project installation parameters are met.
• Recognizing any conflicts with other work being performed on the job site.
• Willing to operate and become certified with the various equipment utilized on our job sites.
• Supporting all field activities as required by individual project sites.
• Working effectively with all field personnel.
• Serving as a Safety Leader at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Ability to listen, understand and follow instructions.
• Excellent mechanical and communication skills.
• Ability to work with a wide range of personalities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred. On the job training offered. Prior related experience in mechanical maintenance a plus. Must have the ability to pass required safety certifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
• Able to work long periods in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Extensive out of town travel required for this position!
