Job summary

PDS Health is seeking a Specialty Dental Assistant to support clinicians in Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics or Pediatric dentistry. The role involves travel between multiple offices and performing duties per the state's permitted patient-care scope.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and a dental assisting certificate, plus reliable transportation for frequent office visits. Training and growth opportunities are available across specialties.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED with state-mandated certification/licensure.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; background and MVR checks required.
• Must be willing to travel to multiple offices daily; reliable transportation required.
• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per the applicable state Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
• Escort patients to the front desk and introduce them to team members.
• Coordinate with front/back office to ensure orthodontists schedule runs smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment.
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to enable efficient care.
• Complete radiographs and intra-oral photos as directed by the clinician.
• Prepare tray setups and maintain adequate supply levels for each operatory.
• Record patient charts and clinician notes in the digital chart.
• Present treatment records, consents, and health history to clinician prior to treatment.
• Ensure equipment is maintained per manufacturer guidelines.
• Travel between offices as required to support patient care.
