Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Traveling Telecom Drill Bores Operator to install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. The role requires operating drill equipment, locating utilities, and managing bore schedules while traveling as needed.

You’ll work in all weather conditions, ensure safety, and support site setup, maintenance, and clean-up. Strong experience with drilling equipment is expected, including CDL qualification considerations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with drilling equipment and related processes.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Up to 100% travel
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Traveling Directional Drill Operator is $24.00 - $35.00.
