Dental assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. They prepare patients for oral examinations and assist other dental professionals in providing treatment to the teeth, mouth, and gums. Dental assistants work effectively with co-workers, including Specialty dental assistants, patients, and the front office, by sharing ideas constructively and positively. A successful dental assistant will practice active listening, keep commitments, keep others informed of work progress, and address problems constructively to find practical solutions.

Specialty Dental Assistants: If assigned within specialty areas such as Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, or Pediatric Dentistry, they will primarily support clinicians within that specialty and may require additional training.

  13. Support patient care by presenting treatment records and consents.
  14. Ensure equipment maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines.
  15. Work with the Lead Dental Assistant to manage supplies.
  16. Learn and operate technology, providing explanations as needed.
  17. Participate in team meetings and adhere to company culture and standards.
  18. Implement the Perfect Patient Experience to gain Patients for Life.
  19. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
  20. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
