Golden Valley Health Centers seeks a Dental Assistant Float to support dentists across 12 clinics in Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin Counties. The role requires travel to all sites, providing instrument passing, radiographs, casts, and operatory prep to ensure smooth patient care.

The position is a full-time, on-site opportunity with a Monday–Friday schedule (7:45am–4:30pm). Compensation ranges from $22.10 to $23.05 per hour, plus an $18 daily bonus for scheduled days, with comprehensive

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental terminology and dental office procedures.
• General knowledge of office procedures.
• Skills in general computer use.
• Ability to independently perform dental procedures.
• Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Complete dental assistant education courses as required by California.
• Adapt to changes in daily/hourly schedules; travel to all sites is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Pass and receive instruments.
• Mix cements, amalgam and impression materials.
• Oral evacuation and retraction.
• Seat, prepare, and dismiss patients.
• Receive/place telephone calls.
• Appointment control.
• Inventory control.
• Routine maintenance of equipment.
• Operatory preparation and clean-up.
• Oral hygiene instruction.
• Chart patient health care information.
• Take patient blood pressure and oral temperature.
• Develop and trim diagnostic casts.
• Pour and trim diagnostic casts.
• Take radiographs.
• Additional duties as assigned.
