Job summary

ARCO National Construction seeks a Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead commercial/industrial design-build projects across the United States. You will own jobsite execution from post-award review through completion, guiding crews, schedules, safety, and quality to deliver successful outcomes.

The role requires leadership, travel readiness, and proficiency with Procore/Bluebeam/MS Excel. You will collaborate with the project manager to optimize schedules, costs, and client satisfaction

Qualifications

• 5-25 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent and ownership of jobsite execution from post-award to completion.
• Willing to travel throughout the United States on traveling projects.
• Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in state of residence.
• Ability to meet physical demands: standing/walking, uneven surfaces, lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Lead field operations and jobsite execution on commercial and industrial construction projects.
• Demonstrate leadership, direct teams, and resolve conflicts.
• Attend post-award review meetings and begin preconstruction planning.
• Develop construction schedules with the project manager, plan manpower and equipment needs.
• Oversee work to meet specifications, stay on schedule, and ensure profitability.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to maintain project timeline.
• Assist in preparing progress and cost reports reflecting actual costs.
• Review and approve requisitions, POs, invoices, and key documents.
• Maintain communication with the project manager on progress and issues.
• Complete daily reports with project details and approvals.
• Enforce the company safety program across all phases.

ABOUT YOU

Ready to experience a better way to build your career? ARCO National Construction is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead commercial and industrial design-build projects across the United States.

This is a role for an experienced Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or similar construction professional who is ready to take ownership of jobsite execution from post-award review through project completion. You will lead subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and partner closely with the project manager to deliver successful projects for our clients.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Lead field operations and jobsite execution throughout all phases of commercial and industrial construction projects
• Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability and willingness to face challenges, direct teams, and effectively resolve conflicts
• Attend the post-award review meeting to gather project details and begin preconstruction planning
• Partner with the project manager to develop the construction schedule, including activity sequencing, manpower, and equipment needs
• Oversee the project to ensure work meets specifications, stays on schedule, and achieves target profitability
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure effective performance within the project timeline
• Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and key project documents
• Maintain constant communication with the project manager to keep them informed of job progress, plans, and issues that may impact costs or schedules
• Complete daily reports documenting key project details, events, conditions, visitors, client interactions, commitments, and approvals
• Enforce adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases of the project
• Lead with integrity and a commitment to quality, upholding company values and focusing on exceeding internal and external client expectations

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-25 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent
• Willing to travel throughoutthe United States
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Excel)
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
